RATES

My rate is $170 for a 50-55 minute session.

Some people prefer longer sessions (75-90+ min) for going deeper into their struggles. For example, EMDR reprocessing or IFS work are deep forms of inner work. In that deep processing, it can sometimes be helpful to extend past a 50-minute session to get the full benefit of the work. I am happy to offer longer sessions upon request, pro-rated at my hourly rate.

Insurance: I am an in-network provider with OHP, Aetna, and Optum/UnitedHealthcare. I provide a superbill (a receipt of your mental health services that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement) upon request.

If you do not have one of the insurance companies I take, but would like to use your insurance benefits, you will need to find out if you have out of network mental health benefits as I would be considered an out of network mental health provider. Most PPO health insurance plans have these benefits. I’m happy to help you navigate confirming out of network benefits and would strongly recommend calling to see what your plan offers.

Payment: Payment is due at the time of session. I accept all major credit cards or HSA/FSA as forms of payment through Simple Practice, a HIPAA compliant platform.

Cancellations: If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel 48 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session. Exceptions will be made for emergency situations.

Please note that as of January 1, 2022, uninsured and private-pay clients are entitled to receive a Good Faith estimate of their out of pocket cost (the No Surprises Act) following the first session.

How to Find Low-Cost or Free Therapy

I do make every attempt to be an affordable health care provider. However, if you need a lower fee and my sliding scale spots are full, there are other ways to find affordable therapy!

  • Search “sliding scale therapy” and your town, city, or state

  • Contact your insurance company directly to ask for their help in finding an in-network therapist for you

  • Many counseling training programs often offer free or low-cost therapy with counseling graduate students (such as Straight Talk in Santa Ana, CA or OSU’s Counseling Clinic in Bend, Oregon)

  • If you’re a survivor of intimate partner violence, contact your local survivor support organization as many offer free or low-cost therapy to survivors

  • If you’re a survivor of sexual abuse or assault, RAINN is an organization that can help you find affordable services

  • Open Path Collective is a directory of therapists who offer therapy at $30-60 per session

  • Search online for local community mental health agencies (such as through your county or other government-funded or non-profit organization)
